The new president of the Plant City campus of Hillsborough Community College said he sees a bright future for the school.
Martyn Clay, who took over July 1, said about 4,000 students are enrolled in the fall semester, about 4 percent more than last year.
"I think we have so much potential here and so many good ideas circulating around that growth is sure to come," he said Thursday.
He told members of the Downtown Luncheon Club that the college at 1206 N. Park Road will likely expand its use of technology to reach students, including through use of online courses.
He added that he wants to work with local business owners to see what kind of jobs training the campus could offer that would best meet their needs.
