GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under direction of the Chief Information Officer, responsible for the design, development and delivery of instructional content that will be used in traditional on-campus courses, blended, and on-line courses for undergraduate and graduate programs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:*
- Work collaboratively with faculty, instructional technologist, media services, rTIP program and subject
matter experts to design and develop new classes and revise current courses.
- Guide and support faculty in the best practices for
teaching and learning through online and media enriched courses.
- Actively monitor, assess, and evaluate developed courses and assist
in the revision of courses.
- Assist in the development of assessment measures to evaluate the effectiveness of design
approaches.
- Integrate technologies that are online-learner focused, foster student engagement, active learning, digital scholarship,
and collaboration.
- Research, evaluate and implement current and emerging instructional technologies.
- Monitor and keep up to
date with emerging technology and trends in online and hybrid instructional design, asynchronous teaching and learning, and the mobile
environment.
- Maintain expert level Moodle and multi-media skills.
- Work closely with enterprise services colleagues in
planning, implementation and support of employed technologies.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Masters Degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Educational Technology, or related field.
- 5 years experience as an instructional designer, educational technologist, or related position required.
- 1 - 3 years experience with the Moodle LMS systems. Experience in the use of multimedia equipment and software including lecture capture.
- Working knowledge of Copyright laws, Universal Design for Instruction and Teaching for Understanding as well as Accessibility.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and organizational skills.
- Able to manage multiple simultaneous projects.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, strategize, and deliver instructional design projects.
- Ability to collaborate and work in teams.
- Experience with online teaching and learning programs in higher education.
- Demonstrated understanding of instructional design methodologies and adult learning theory.
- Online teaching and learning experience.
- Knowledge of effective online and blended teaching and learning practices and adult and individualized learning methods.
- Ability to form strong coalitions with internal and external constituencies and work collaboratively with campus constituents and establish positive public relations for the College.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Normal office environment, not subject to extremes in temperature, noise, odors, etc.
- Regularly uses computer keyboard, requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.
- May require occasional lifting and outdoor work for site surveying and management of project progress.
- More than half of time spent in normal office setting.
