Saturday Morning Wisconsin Sports Report

Posted Saturday, June 23, 2012 --- 7:50 a.m.

Here is the latest Wisconsin sports news from The Associated Press:

CHICAGO (AP) ? Zack Greinke couldn't have pitched much better through nine innings, but the Milwaukee Brewers needed 10 to pull out the win. Greinke allowed just three hits over nine innings against the Chicago White Sox. Rickie Weeks drove in the game's only run with a 10th inning single. Greinke improved to 8-2, and John Axford added his 13th save.

MILWAUKEE (AP) ? The Milwaukee Brewers have added a veteran to their pitching staff. They signed Livan Hernandez to a one-year contract. The Atlanta Braves released him on Monday. He'd made 18 appearances for Atlanta, all out of the bullpen. Hernandez is in his 17th major league season and has a career record of 175-177 with a 4.40 ERA.

ELKHART LAKE, Wis. (AP) ? Danica Patrick is hoping her newfound experience in road racing will give her an edge today at Road America, a scenic four-mile course through central Wisconsin. She has more experience in road racing than many drivers who came up racing stock cars. She says: "Yeah, all right. Let's do this."

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) ? Former Purdue star Robbie Hummel is trying to convince NBA teams that his right knee is fine. The Indiana Pacers are one team apparently willing to listen. He worked out for the Pacers yesterday on the test stop of his national tour. Hummel says he's already proven he's healthy by playing all of last season. He has torn the ACL in the knee twice.
