A little while back her mom told me that she was throwing Christie a small shower with just a few family members and friends. ?Nothing big because being the third baby, she didn?t need much, just a nice way to honor Christie and love on little Bennett before he gets here.
So of course, being the good blogger that I am, I asked Connie, Christie?s mom, if I could help a bit. ?I thought since his name is going to be Bennett, such an old-time, classic name, I wanted to go with a Downton Abbey-ish crossed with a bit of Jane Austen. ?We?ll call it High Society. ?Since Christie?s kids? names are Elinor, Charley, and soon to be Bennett, (she clearly love this era!) I knew she would love this idea. ?I asked the lovely Amy from Avery?s Loft to come a bit early and snap some pictures for us because, among other things, she is pretty snazzy behind the camera!
High Society Baby Shower
?Before you were born, we loved you.? ?I saw this saying somewhere and just knew I had to use it. ?Because that was the reason we were there, we already loved him!
Most of the work was done by Christie?s mother, and she did a beautiful job. ?It was fancy and beautiful and perfect. ?She had place settings for each guest, plated everyone?s food (which was de-lish!!), and a wonderful menu! ?I?ll let the pictures explain a little more.
All of the paper goods, the name cards, menus, photo booth props were done by the very talented ladies at The Pomegranate Basket. ?All of the design as well.
Here?s Christie having a little fun. ?We were teasing how when you?re a fashion/beauty blogger you?re always ready to pose!
The yard was gorgeous, and we created a little area just in front of their little waterfall for a faux-photo booth! ?The ladies at The Pomegranate Basket came through again with some super cute cut out props like lips, mustaches, bow ties, and glasses.
Here is a little bit of the fun we had in the photo booth! ?Don?t we all look so fabulous!? ?And if you?re wondering who was the dude who crashed the party, it?s Christie?s brother. ?He was pulling daddy-day-care running after his little one.
Now of course you remembered how I said the food was?delicious, right? ?For brunch she made eggs benedict with an arugula salad topped with a balsamic?vinaigrette?dressing and fruit kabobs.
And for dessert she made and amazing Creme Brulee. ?And when I say amazing, that?s the understatment of the year. ?It was incredible. ?I could have had two, but I was trying to be all lady-like. ?It was a shower after all.
And of the whole day, would you believe it, this is the only picture we have of us together! ?Christie looks fabulous and I look a little bit like I have no clue what?s going on. ?Not quite sure what I?m doing with my hand, but it turned out cute nonetheless!
It was a beautiful day. ?Ladies who love Christie and cannot wait to meet her new little guy who is so blessed to be able to call her mother. ?I feel blessed to call her my friend and partner and am constantly encouraged by her. ?Thank you Christie, for being a true and honest friend. ?We love you and can?t wait to meet Bennett!
