Avalanche risk closes Trans-Canada Highway north of Hope

The high risk of an avalanche has forced the closure of the Trans-Canada Highway from Boston Bar to Lytton.

The route will remain closed until a proper assessment can be completed by highway officials.

The Coquihalla Highway and Highway 8 are the recommended alternate routes.

An update is expected at 5 p.m. PT.
